Fat Point Jack here,
I've been lurking here for many years and have enjoyed the passionate conversation on this site.
Thank you.
I've have had the pleasure of owning a pair Altec Lansing Model 15 loudspeakers since about 1980. I purchased them from a friend who got them from some one else. It appears that my $500.00 purchase price has broken even over the years.
I originally ran them with a NAD 1020 preamp and a pair of NAD 2140 amps running bridged.
Since then its been a big Yamadog receiver and a Veledyne sub.
They have live the past 30 years they've lived in an 18' x 14' x 8' room they sit atop a 30" countertop. I finally fixed the rattle when I replaced the crummy Altec particle board base with arrow points (poor man's spikes).
As these are great sounding speakers, they also move a lot of air. They easily filled Nelson's 2 acre back yard with New Years Eve tunes. The local Women's Club has been filled with that Altec sound for Halloween and other parties.
Some more comments will come in the appropriate threads.
Jack
